Pro-abort, CFR-member Fred Thompson wows desperate, naive South Carolina Republicans in Columbia – June 27, 2007

Soon-to-officially-announce GOP candidate for president Thompson impresses blinded “conservatives” looking for an “electable” winner

Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at the Clarion Town House Hotel, Columbia, South Carolina

Steve Lefemine, pro-life missionary, director of Columbia Christians for Life outside the Clarion Town House Hotel with messages and flyers provided to attendees and reporters on-site at the event, but unreported in dominant media:

In a manner eerily reminiscent of the “hear-no-evil,” “see-no-evil” Bush-bot mentality of Christian/conservative/pro-life voters in 2000 and 2004 who refused to hear the truth about pro-abort, Skull and Bones secret society member George W. Bush ( http://www.bushrevealed.com/ ), South Carolina Republicans, rather than rally around one of the stronger, more principled so-called “second-tier” candidates (e.g., Mike Huckabee, Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter, Ron Paul), seem prepared to grasp onto the new candidacy Pro-abort, CFR-member Fred Thompson in their blinded hope of defeating likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Fred Thompson Leading in New Mason Dixon Poll in South Carolina
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1851711/posts
Posted on 06/17/2007

‘WASHINGTON – South Carolina appears poised to shake up the 2008 presidential race, with Democrat Barack Obama and Republican Fred Thompson the frontrunners in a new state survey by Mason-Dixon.’

‘Arizona Sen. John McCain,…, appeared to have lost many of his supporters to Thompson, and was far back in the GOP field.’

‘Thompson, a television actor and former Tennessee senator, topped Giuliani by 25 percent to 21 percent. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was next at 11 percent, followed by McCain at 7 percent and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee at 5 percent. Huckabee has gotten strong notices in the last two Republican debates. Twenty-eight percent were undecided. ‘

‘The new poll was striking evidence of Thompson’s rise from nowhere in early presidential readings to potential front-runner status. Thompson’s first campaign swing as he edges toward a formal candidacy will be in South Carolina on June 27.’

‘He brought a crowd of about 300 Republicans to their feet when he said “maybe I can come back later in a different capacity and we can talk a little bit more about some of these issues.”‘

‘Thompson was in Columbia to deliver the keynote address at a state Republican Party roundtable discussion and luncheon series dedicated to presidential politics and South Carolina’s commitment to be the first Southern state to hold its primary.’

‘The event, held at a downtown hotel, was limited to party leaders.’

‘A co-sponsor of campaign finance reform bill when he was in the Senate, Thompson said he supported the recent Supreme Court’s ruling that struck down parts of the measure.’

CCL note: Fred Thompson was a co-sponsor of the unconstitutional, anti-free speech McCain-Feingold campaign finance “reform” bill (see S.27, 2001-2002, 107th Congress, Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2001 (Introduced in Senate) at http://thomas.loc.gov/ ).

‘And he defended his opposition to abortion rights, saying the National Right to Life endorsed him in his 1994 Senate race and that “I was ranked 100 percent on abortion-related issues.” However, the group gave him a less-than-perfect score in subsequent years.’

CCL note: First, National Right to Life has been one of the biggest obstacles to passing principled, no-exceptions abortion-ban legislation in the country (see “RTL Act of SC” at http://www.christianlifeandliberty.net/ ). Second, National Right to Life doesn’t score members of Congress on whether they vote for the huge, unconstituional, abortion-funding federal HHS Appropriations bills, as Senator Fred Thompson has done, which annually funds “Murder, Inc.,” Planned Parenthood with tens of millions of taxpayer Medicaid and Title X dollars, funds selected Medicaid surgical abortions, funds chemically abortifacient birth control, and funds birth control to unmarried teenagers, even if their parents object.

For example, Fred Thompson voted for passage the HHS Appropriations bill for FY 2002, funding Planned Parenthood, selected surgical abortions, chemical abortions, and birth control for unmarried teenagers, even if their parents object, on December 20, 2001 (see H.R. 3061, 2001-2002, 107th Congress, at http://thomas.loc.gov/ ). The former Tennessee senator’s vote supporting passage of H.R. 3061, “Thompson (R-TN), Yea” is recorded at:
www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=107&session=1&vote=00378

See these articles at CovenantNews.com for additional details on HHS abortion funding:

http://opa.osophs.dhhs.gov/titlex/ofp-service-grantees.html
http://opa.osophs.dhhs.gov/titlex/ofp-funding-history.html

Neither does National Right to Life score members of Congress on whether they co-sponsor principled federal abortion-ban bills, which if passed, would ban abortion in America, because these bills also invoke the Art. III., Sec. 2. (US Constitution) power and authority of Congress to remove appellate jurisdiction from the US Supreme Court in matters relating to abortion. Present bills active in the current (110th, 2007-2008) Congress which would ban abortion in America and remove appellate jurisdiction from the US Supreme Court are HR 1094, HR 300, and HR 2597. ( See HR 1094, HR 2597 and HR 300 at http://thomas.loc.gov/ ). Will Fred Thompson publicly support any of these bills ???

‘THOMPSON’S CHOICE’

‘Fred Thompson came close to alarming his pro-life constituency for his prospective Republican presidential candidacy on Fox’s “Hannity & Colmes” program Tuesday when he expressed doubts about “criminalizing” abortion.’

‘After asserting he “always thought Roe v. Wade was a wrong decision,” the actor-politician said: “I would not be and never have been for a law that says, on the state level, if I were back in Tennessee voting on this, for example, that, if they chose to criminalize a young woman, and ¬ .” Co-host Sean Hannity then interrupted: “So, states rights for you?” Thompson replied: “Essentially, federalism. It’s in the Constitution.”‘

‘Although Thompson in his first Senate campaign in 1994 said the decision to have an abortion “must be made by the woman,” he built a solid pro-life voting record during eight Senate years that has generated presidential support for him among social conservatives.’

‘Thompson, 64, an actor and former Tennessee senator, has no serious political organization in South Carolina and makes his first appearance in this campaign season in the state on Wednesday. So it is a sign of Republicans’ deep unease with the party’s current field of 10 candidates that conservative voters are watching Thompson with interest.’

‘A poll last week showed Thompson and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani fighting for the lead in South Carolina. It is not clear whether voters are drawn to Thompson because he is the new candidate on the block, or whether his growing popularity is a function of perceived flaws with the other top-tier contenders.’

Fred Thompson – another CFR-member for president
Should Fred Thompson enter the 2008 presidential race, he would become the fifth member of the globalist, NWO’s Council on Foreign Relations to do so, joining fellow CFR-members, US Senator John McCain, (former VA) Gov. Jim Gilmore, (NM) Gov. Bill Richardson, and US Senator Chris Dodd. Furthermore, former US House Speaker Newt Gingrich, also a member of the CFR, is also considering entering the presidential race later this Fall (perhaps if enough conservatives don’t take the bait and swallow the lie that globalist, First Amendment free-speech enemy Fred Thompson is a “conservative”)

The power of the Masonic bond was evidenced in the impeachment trial of President Clinton. In high school Clinton had been president of the Masonic youth group De Molay and in 1988 was inducted into the International De Molay Hall-of-Fame. Three Senators, all 33rd degree Masons, were instrumental in his acquittal: Majority Leader Trent Lott limited the time and the number of witnesses available to the House prosecutors; Republican Arlen Specter led the 10 Republican Senators who voted to acquit; Democrat Robert C. Byrd, although publicly acknowledging Clinton’s guilt, actually voted for acquittal, and set the example for all other Democrats.

The secret oaths and insoluble bonds of Freemasonry bring them ever closer to their ultimate goals the destruction of Christianity and the establishment of a pagan New World Order.

[emphasis added]

SC voters look to deport Sen. Lindsey "Grahamnesty" in 2008

Lindsey Graham’s leadership in pushing the Bush / Kennedy / McCainAmnesty bill (S.1348, now re-numbered S.1639) may raise up a GOP opponent in the June 10, 2008 SC Republican Primary

‘Talk radio hosts within and beyond South Carolina have been deriding Graham as a Ted Kennedy toady.’

‘Rush Limbaugh has taken to calling him “Lindsey Grah-amnesty.’

”Furious Republican loyalists lobby online for someone anyone to step forward and challenge Graham in the 2008 party primary when he seeks re-election.’

‘The names of possible GOP primary challengers to Graham fly across the Internet: Gov. Mark Sanford; U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett; Attorney General Henry McMaster; former Attorney General Charlie Condon; former Myrtle Beach Mayor Mark McBride; former gubernatorial candidate Oscar Lovelace; state Sen. Greg Ryberg of Aiken; and Buddy Witherspoon, a Republican national committee member from Columbia.’

‘The name mentioned most often is that of state Treasurer Thomas Ravenel.’

[ CCL Note: This article appeared June 17. Then, on June 19, Ravenel was indicted “on a federal charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute less than 500 grams of cocaine.” Ravenel has been suspended from office by the SC Governor. www.thestate.com/169/story/96446.html ; www.thestate.com/426/story/100508.html ]

‘Graham said he’s ready for any opponent, Republican or Democrat.’

“Anyone who runs against me better get up early and stay late because I think I’ve been one heck of a good senator for my state and my party,” Graham said…’

‘Graham said he agreed to tackle immigration reform when President Bush summoned him for a personal meeting after Republicans lost control of Congress last November.”

“He asked me if I could help,” Graham said. “I said I would be glad to help because this is something he would like to do in his last two years (as president).”’

[excerpts]

‘Graham has been criticized by people in his own party for several things since he was elected to the Senate in 2002. The most recent fight is over immigration reform. Graham has supported a bill that opponents, like South Carolina’s other senator, Jim DeMint, decry as amnesty. Graham has heard the criticism and is not backing down.’

‘Spartanburg County Republican Party Chairman Rick Beltram said Graham’s biggest threat in 2008 could come from a Democrat.’

‘And the right Democrat might get some support from unlikely people.””We thought that (Graham) was going to be a great senator, but he has turned out, on immigration especially, to be very disappointing,” said Nora Olson of Spartanburg, a Republican. “If anyone good and capable runs against him, I will vote for them – even if it’s a Democrat, and if I have confidence they’ll do a good job.”

“GOP anger targets McCain, Graham”

[excerpts]

‘Republicans are angry. ‘

‘Angrier than they have been in years. ‘

“I haven’t seen an issue that’s connected with the base since hanging chads in Florida,” said Katon Dawson, the state GOP’s chairman.

‘It’s immigration,…’

‘In South Carolina, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham has become the face of that legislation. He’s even picked up a new nickname, “Grahamnesty,” and it’s not complimentary. ‘

‘The timing could have been better. Graham is up for re-election in 2008, and the primary is only 51 weeks distant, filing even sooner. ‘

‘And Graham, Dawson concedes, is taking a “pounding” for his out-front role in pushing it, along with his choice for the Republican presidential nomination, Sen. John McCain. South Carolina Republicans’ favorite bugaboo, Massachusetts Democrat Ted Kennedy, was the prime Democratic co-sponsor. ‘

‘The conservative Heritage Foundation called the bill “ill-conceived.” Columbia Christians for Life issued a statement critical of Graham as one of the “pro-amnesty traitors in (a) Benedict Arnold betrayal of America.”

‘With Graham so closely tied to McCain, who led the GOP charge — with very few followers — for the immigration bill, there’s bound to be fallout for McCain’s presidential primary campaign in South Carolina. The question is how long, how deep.’

Two days after Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) appeared in a Washington D.C. news conference May 17 with Senators Ted Kennedy (D-MA), John McCain (R-AZ), and others to promote the Instant Amnesty Immigration bill, Graham was booed back home at the SC Republican Party State Convention on May 19, in Columbia.

‘The crowd at South Carolina’s Republican convention cheered Saturday when former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney criticized a new immigration proposal and booed U.S. Sen Lindsey Graham when he defended it.’ [emphasis added]

May 27 2007
Two conservative senators were booed by Republican crowds in their home states last week for endorsing the legalization effort. And conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh attacked the Bush-backed plan as the “Destroy the Republican Party Act.”

On Friday, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) tied his presidential campaign more tightly to the view that a welcoming immigration policy would boost the GOP in important swing states as he scheduled a June 4 address on the plan in immigrant-rich Miami and attacked his leading rivals for opposing the measure.

The grass-roots anger at the party elite was on display last week in Georgia and South Carolina, when Sens. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) were heckled by otherwise friendly Republican audiences for their support of the immigration measure. Graham was booed when he mentioned that Bush understood the politics of the issue and performed well among Latinos.

McCain, a key negotiator on the compromise, seemed to be keeping his distance when the deal was announced last week. Now he has decided to tackle the matter head-on, frustrated by what his aides called pandering by his rivals and buoyed by polls showing that a majority of Americans supported a welcoming approach to immigrants.

Graham Receives Honor from La Raza, Calls Amnesty Opponents “Bigots”
Written by Jeffrey West
May 21, 2007 at 05:11 PM
[excerpts, emphasis added]

‘South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham received an award on March 6 from the National Council of La Raza for his efforts to pass an amnesty bill for illegal aliens.
According to Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation, the bill Graham helped pass would have allowed up to 200 million illegal aliens and their family members to become citizens in the next twenty years, and would have bankrupted America in the next decade accordingto the Congressional Budget Office.’

‘Sen. Graham was joined by Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) and Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) and Archbishop Roger Cardinal Mahoney of Los Angeles.’ La Raza (The Race) is an organization that defends Hispanic rights and lobbies for amnesty and open borders. They received over $15 million in federal grants last year, in spite of the fact that the organization only helps Hispanics and no other ethnic group.’

‘As late as 2003 La Raza funded groups such as MEChA (Chicano Student Movement for Aztlan), a radical leftist organization whose goal is to take over the western U.S. and establish an Aztec nation, which they imagine existed historically.’

‘Despite a 2006 Zogby poll which found that the majority of Americans are opposed to amnesty for illegal aliens, Sen. Graham closed his speech by declaring that “We are going to solve this problem, we’re not going to run people down, we’re not gonna scapegoat people, we’re going to tell the bigots to shut up and we’re gonna get this right.”’

Key Immigration Amnesty vote expected Tuesday, June 26 in US Senate !!!

The Amnesty bill has been re-numbered and was re-introduced on June 18, 2007, now as S.1639. The U.S. Senate calendar indicates that S.1639 will be taken up on Tuesday, June 26, 2007.

‘A vote to resurrect the bill, which collapsed two weeks ago when Democrats and Republicans demanded more time to pass amendments, is scheduled for Tuesday [CCL Note: June 26].

It will require the support of 60 senators. As of yesterday, it was a close call, with opponents claiming momentum.’

‘If the compromise survives Tuesday’s first test vote, the Senate will then move to vote on about two dozen amendments, divided between Republicans and Democrats, that could substantially alter the bill.’

‘NumbersUSA, a grass-roots organization that opposes the bill, is running television ads in South Carolina attacking Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, who the ad says “joined with Ted Kennedy in strong-arming senators to support amnesty.” A similar ad is scheduled for Kentucky, tying Republican senator and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to Mr. Kennedy, the Massachusetts Democrat.’

[emphasis added]

COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM ACT OF 2007 — (Senate – June 20, 2007)

[Page: S8158] GPO’s PDF

CLOTURE MOTION

Mr. REID. Mr. President, if I could do a little bit of business, and I will yield to the distinguished Senator from Delaware.

I was going to ask unanimous consent that the Senate proceed to the consideration of S. 1639, the immigration legislation, at a time to be determined by the majority leader following consultation with the Republican leader. However, I am advised there would be an objection from the Republican side, so I am not going to ask for that unanimous consent.

Therefore, I move to proceed to Calendar No. 208, S. 1639, and I send a cloture motion to the desk.

The PRESIDING OFFICER. The cloture motion having been presented under rule XXII, the Chair directs the clerk to read the motion.

[Page: S8159] GPO’s PDF

The legislative clerk read as follows: Cloture Motion

We, the undersigned Senators, in accordance with the provisions of rule XXII of the Standing Rules of the Senate, do hereby move to bring to a close debate on the motion to proceed to Calendar No. 208, S. 1639, Immigration. Ted Kennedy, Russell D. Feingold, Daniel K. Inouye, Tom Carper, Sheldon Whitehouse, Pat Leahy, Richard J. Durbin, Benjamin L. Cardin, Ken Salazar, Frank R. Lautenberg, Joe Lieberman, Dianne Feinstein, John Kerry, Charles Schumer, Ben Nelson, B.A. Mikulski.

Mr. REID. I now ask unanimous consent that the mandatory quorum required under rule XXII be waived, and I therefore withdraw the motion.

The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered. ______________________________________________

Foreign Invasion and War are two of God’s “end-game” judgments upon wicked nations that shed innocent blood (2 Kings 24:1-4), as the United States of America has done for over 34 years, murdering over 47 Million (www.ldi.org) pre-birth children while in the God-designed sanctuary of their mothers’ wombs:

2 Kings 24:1-4, KJB:

“In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up,…”

“And the LORD… sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.”

“Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;”

“And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.”

www.kingjamesbible.com/B12C024.htm

God is not mocked, America. “Blood toucheth blood” (Hosea 4:2). We have sown bloodshed in the womb, and we are already reaping bloodshed on the streets, of America and Iraq. God is recompensing us blood for blood for our national sin of child-murder-by-abortion (e.g., Columbine, 9-11, Iraq, Katrina, VA Tech,…), just as He did in the War Between Americans (1861-1865) for the national sin of chattel slavery, borne of the capital crime of man-stealing (Exodus 21:16), and followed by generations of brutality, bloodshed, and injustice against Black people.

FIFTH ANNUAL “REPENTANCE FOR BLOODGUILT” OUTDOOR WORSHIP SERVICE IN COLUMBIA, SC (since January 2003)
Sunday, January 21, 2007, South Steps, SC State House, Columbia, South Carolina
www.christianlifeandliberty.net/REP07-05.doc

As America considers the twin major national security issues of:

1) millions of illegal aliens already having entered our country, and

2) the disaster from the undeclared, and therefore unconstitutional, and therefore illegal; as well as unjustified (no 9-11 connection, no WMD’s), and therefore unnecessary (not a “just” war), and therefore immoral War in Iraq, REMEMBER:

It is God alone Who can bring peace and security to a land (Lev. 26:5,6)…

Foreign invasion and War are divine consequences upon a nation, any nation, for the shedding of innocent blood (e.g., 2 Kings 24:1-4)…

As has been said, it’s now Christ, or Chaos (and then Tyranny)…

Mr. Mike Warren, Rochester, NY, minister and pro-life leader:
“True repentance is not possible until the truth regarding the need of repentance is comprehended.”

How many Christians understand the Biblical doctrine of corporate bloodguilt, and therefore realize that all of us in America are stained with bloodguiltiness, as is the land itself ? How many pastors have the courage to preach it in the pulpit ? (e.g., Deuteronomy 19:10, 13; Numbers 35:33; Deuteronomy 21:1-9; Jeremiah 26:15)

“If My people, which are called by My Name (born-again Christians), shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”2 Chronicles 7:14

Abortion in America can be ended in one week by passing H.R. 2597 and removing appellate jurisdiction from the U.S. Supreme Court, to prevent the overturn of this bill, which if passed would ban abortion nationwide ( see H.R. 2597, the Sanctity of Life Act of 2007 at http://thomas.loc.gov/ )

Abortion in each state can be ended by passing no exceptions fetal ‘personhood’ bills, similar to as H.3284, the Right to Life Act of SC; and/or by passing constitutional amendments, similar to HB 403 in the State of Montana
www.scstatehouse.net/sess117_2007-2008/bills/3284.htm

2007 State-Level Bills Banning Abortions in Eight U.S. States
– AL, CO, GA, MT, ND, SC, TX, VA (16% of States in U.S.)
www.christianlifeandliberty.net/RTLAofUS-07-04.doc
Revised and updated as of March 29, 2007

National Right to Life and the Republican Party are wrong. The composition of the US Supreme Court is not what has to change to end abortion. If the Christians of America would simply read Article III., Section 2. of their own national covenant, the US Constitution, perhaps they would understand that Congress and the President have had the power to end abortion in America in a week’s time, for now almost 34 years !

PRESIDENT BUSH and CONGRESS COULD END ABORTION IN AMERICA IN ONE WEEK:
President Bush and the US Congress have the power NOW to end abortion in America in one week: Pass HR 552, the “Right to Life Act”, amended with the addition of the Article III., Section 2. power of the US Congress in the US Constitution to limit the appellate jurisdiction of the US Supreme Court, and the complete jurisdiction of the lower federal courts (US District Courts and US Circuit Courts of Appeal, which were created by Congress by federal statute, and could even be eliminated by Congress by federal statute, let alone have their jurisdictions limited).
[ see HR 618 and HR 300, 110th Congress, at http://thomas.loc.gov/ ]
www.christianlifeandliberty.net/CCL05-21.doc

US House limits jurisdiction of Federal Courts regarding the Pledge of Allegiance Employs Article III., Section 2. constitutional power of the US Congress to limit the appellate jurisdiction of the US supreme Court:
This same Article III., Section 2. constitutional power of the US Congress to limit the appellate jurisdiction of the US supreme Court can be further applied to protect the God-ordained institution of marriage, to protect state-level laws banning acts of sodomy, to protect federal and state laws banning abortion, and to protect the freedom of religious expression that is guaranteed by the First Amendment of the US Constitution, vis-a-vis public displays of the Ten Commandments, and public prayer in the Name of Jesus.
www.christianlifeandliberty.net/CONSTLAW06-01.DOC

The Article III., Section 2. legal strategy espoused in the articles above is embodied in HR 2597, The Sanctity of Life Act of 2007, sponsored by US Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas).

Congressman Paul’s bill HR 2597 would: 1) recognize human life beginning at conception, 2) recognize the legal status of “person” at conception, and 3) by invoking the Article III., Section 2. (US Constitution) authority and power of the US Congress to restrict the appellate jurisdiction of the US Supreme Court, would protect the bill from being overturned, thereby ending abortion in America !

Another more comprehensive bill utilizing the Article III., Section 2. legal strategy, and addressing the issues of 1) freedom of religious expression, 2) abortion, and 3) sodomite couplings, is HR 300, the We the People Act of 2007, also sponsored by the Representative Ron Paul (R-Texas). [Former Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, Roy Moore has advocated legislation in both the US House and US Senate utilizing the Art. III., Sec. 2. legal strategy that addressed the public acknowledgment of God / freedom of religious expression.]

Congressman Paul’s bill HR 300 would return to the States their Sovereign Rights to:

– Acknowledge God (issues related to prayer in Jesus’ Name, and posting of the Ten Commandments),

Ban Child-Murder-By-Abortion

Ban Sodomy (not just ban sodomite couplings, “marriage,” and “civil unions”)

See HR 2597 and HR 300 at http://thomas.loc.gov/ – check the list of co-sponsors, if your US House member is not a co-sponsor of both bills, contact and ask them to sign on as a co-sponsor to HR 2597 and to HR 300. Ask both of your US Senate members to introduce bills in the US Senate similar to HR 2597 and HR 300, as in the US House.

"In memory of the fallen" – Firefighters, rightly, Yes; Unborn, wrongly, No

Charleston Firefighter Rob Fulmer moved his thumb along the edge of a sticker affixed to the side of Engine #10 – smoothing it over and over and over until it was just so. The sticker reads, “In memory of the fallen.”
www.thestate.com/136/story/99230.html / June 22, 2007

It is right to memorialize the brave and sacrificial lives of the nine Charleston firefighters who died in the line of duty on June 18, bravely protecting the city and saving the lives of two citizens caught in the blaze.
www.thestate.com/156/story/95778.html

An estimated 30,000 firefighters from around the country, plus thousands of other citizens attended the Memorial Service for these nine courageous men. As thousands lined the streets to pay their respects, about 100 fire trucks joined in a procession, past the furniture store fire scene and past Charleston fire houses, enroute to the North Charleston Coliseum where the nine caskets were displayed for the Memorial Service.

Yet, just over a mile away, in the same “West Ashley” area just outside of Charleston, at the Charleston Women’s “Medical” [child-murder/abortion] Center over 50 pre-birth children have/will likely die this week alone***, and who will memorialize the loss of their lives ? Who will even notice ? Can we admit that these murdered children are also human beings, are also ‘persons,’ worthy of being memorialized as well ?They had not had the opportunity to be born and perform brave deeds of courage, but were they not still “lives worthy of life” to be respected instead of slaughtered ?

www.antiabortionsigns.com/catalog.html

*** The Charleston Women’s Medical Center reported murdering 2,797 pre-birth children in 2005 alone, according to SC DHEC figures. From 1988 to 2005, this abortion death camp has reported murdering from a minimum of 2,162 (in 1995) to a maximum of 2,835 (in 2004) pre-birth children each year, for a total of 46,540 CHILDREN MURDERED IN CHARLESTON’S WEST ASHLEY CHILD-MURDER-BY-ABORTION DEATH CAMP in just these 18 years -they have NEVER BEEN MEMORIALIZED in a manner commensurate with this holocaust.

Nine brave firefighters sacrificed their lives on Monday, June 18 while fighting a raging fire that was described as a “30-foot tornado of flames,” and trying to save the lives of two employees at the Super Sofa Store, 1807 Savannah Highyway (US Rte 17), Charleston, South Carolina. It was the “worst single incident to claim U.S. firefighters” lives since the Sept. 11 attacks.” (www.thestate.com/156/story/95778.html).

www.thestate.com/312/story/99231.html
The fire Monday night created the single largest loss of firefighters’ lives since the Sept. 11 terror attacks. Beside the caskets, the faces of its victims looked out proudly from large photos: Capt. William “Billy” Hutchinson, 48; Capt. Mike Benke, 49; Capt. Louis Mulkey, 34; Mark Kelsey, 40; Bradford “Brad” Baity, 37; Michael French, 27; James “Earl” Drayton, 56; Brandon Thompson, 27; and Melvin Champaign, 46.

“We’ve lost over 100 years of service,” said Charleston Fire Chief Rusty Thomas at a Tuesday afternoon press conference. “I lost nine of my best friends.”
www.thestate.com/156/story/95778.html

These firefighters and rescuers were heroic in their efforts. One of the speakers at today’s (June 22) Memorial Service said, “To save a human life is a necessity for a firefighter.” Scripture references had been made to the words of Jesus about greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for his friends, and that whatsoever you do to the least of these My brothers, you do unto Me. So why are these same thoughts not also applied to the rescuing of the lives of the unborn being slaughtered just over a mile from where this tragic loss of nine lives occurred at the Super Sofa Store near the corner of the Savannah Highway (U.S. Rte 17) and Wappoo Road ?

Who will protect and rescue the lives of the children being butchered on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays according to the CWMC’s own website, on a weekly basis ?!!!

For several years now, Voice of the Unborn director Johnny Gardner has been lobbying the SC Legislature for a suitable memorial to the Unborn who have lost their lives in our statebecause of the on going holocaust and tragedy of abortion. Over 317,000 children have been murdered from 1973-2005 in South Carolina by surgical abortion alone.

Senate leaders announced plans Thursday night to revive the White House-backed measure as early as next week,…

…, they issued a statement that said in its entirety: “We met this evening with several of the senators involved in the immigration bill negotiations. Based on that discussion, the immigration bill will return to the Senate floor after completion” of sweeping energy legislation that has occupied the Senate this week.

The bill allows illegal immigrants who were in the country as of Jan. 1, 2007, to come forward, pay fees and fines, pass a background check and receive an indefinitely renewable four-year Z visa to live and work legally in the U.S.

Ultimately, holders of Z visas could qualify for citizenship…

WASHINGTON, June 14 Senate Democratic and Republican leaders announced on Thursday that they had agreed on a way to revive a comprehensive immigration bill that was pulled off the Senate floor seven days ago.

The majority leader, Harry Reid, Democrat of Nevada, and the minority leader, Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky, said they expected the bill to return to the floor before the Fourth of July recess.

In a joint statement, Mr. Reid and Mr. McConnell said: “We met this evening with several of the senators involved in the immigration bill negotiations. Based on that discussion, the immigration bill will return to the Senate floor after completion of the energy bill.”

The immigration bill, ardently sought by President Bush, would make the biggest changes in immigration law and policy in more than 20 years.

Earlier in the day, trying to start the bill moving again in the Senate, Mr. Bush called for an immediate burst of $4.4 billion in spending to show that the government was committed to “securing this border once and for all.”

Senator Johnny Isakson, Republican of Georgia, described the call for $4.4 billion as “a good start.” But Mr. Isakson said Mr. Bush needed to do more to secure the border and to show that he was serious about enforcing immigration laws.

Comments by Republican senators on Thursday suggested that they were feeling the heat from conservative critics of the bill, who object to provisions offering legal status. The Republican whip, Trent Lott of Mississippi, who supports the bill, said: “Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem.”

[CCL Note: Senator Trent Lott (R-MS), who called talk radio a “problem,” is a 33rd degree Mason, just as is Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA), another supporter of the Amnesty Bill. For information on the roles of 33rd Degree Masons Trent Lott and Arlen Specter in protecting President Bill Clinton from impeachment, see link and information at the end of this report.]

At some point, Mr. Lott said, Senate Republican leaders may try to rein in “younger guys who are huffing and puffing against the bill.”

Senator Jim DeMint, Republican of South Carolina, welcomed the president’s support for more spending on border security, but said, “There’s no reason why we should be forced to tie amnesty to it.”

Mr. Bush said the $4.4 billion would “come from the fines and penalties that we collect from those who have come to our country illegally” and apply for legal status.

Representative Duncan Hunter of California, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, scorned such linkage. “The idea that we will have border security only if it’s paid for by illegal immigrants is unacceptable,” Mr. Hunter said.

Bush calls for immigration bill by year’s end

WASHINGTON One day after the Senate agreed to take up the issue again, President Bush on Friday called on Congress to pass an overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws by year’s end.

“Each day our nation fails to act, the problem only grows worse. I will continue to work closely with members of both parties, to get past our differences, and pass a bill I can sign this year,” Bush said at the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast in Washington.

Senate Democratic and Republican leaders announced Thursday the chamber will resume debating immigration later this month. The deal to revive the bill came after a stepped-up lobbying effort by Bush, who met with Republican senators during a rare visit to Capitol Hill on Tuesday.

The House will begin debating immigration in July, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has said.

Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., a presidential candidate and bill critic, accused Bush of backing “amnesty fees” and the administration of stalling construction of a U.S.-Mexican border fence “until the president gets his amnesty bill.”

Bush returned from an overseas trip Monday night and immediately plunged into the rescue effort. He met with Republican senators in the Capitol on Tuesday, and on Thursday said he would support a call for $4.4 billion in immediate funding aimed at “securing our borders and enforcing our laws at the work site.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said he has been pushing for six months to have increased border enforcement funds available as soon as the immigration bill would become law.

“Having the funding guaranteed is a significant step toward confidence-building,” Graham said.

Sen Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said he appreciates the effort to fund border security, “but there’s simply no reason why we should be forced to tie amnesty to it.”

Graham predicted that the Senate will pass a revised immigration measure before the July 4th recess.

Someone needs to begin preparing now to run against Mr. “Grahamnesty” in the Spring 2008 South Carolina Republican Party primary for U.S. Senate, to bring an end to the damage being done by John McCain (CFR) protege and Amnesty-activist Lindsey Graham to our state and national sovereignty, security, borders, and culture !

Bush hopes proposal for increased enforcement will rescue immigration bill

President Bush, seeking to rescue the stalled immigration bill, will back an amendment to use new fees, fines, and collections for increased border enforcement, spokesman Tony Snow said Thursday.

The estimated total is around $4.4 billion, Snow said, and the plan is designed to allay the concerns of senators who are more concerned about stopping the flow of illegal immigrants than in guest worker programs.

The proposal covers all fees, fines and collections created under the new law. It is essentially an amendment proposed by Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.

“That money would always be set aside for border enforcement,” Snow said.

Update at 11:10 a.m. ET: Speaking to a group of general contractors, Bush expressed hope that the Senate would recover from last week’s “setback,” according to USA TODAY’s David Jackson.

“The need for reform is urgent,” Bush said. “Our immigration system has been broken for years.”

The new Bush proposal essentially mirrors an amendment supported by Graham and Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz.

Bush thanked the Associated Builders and Contractors for endorsing his vision of comprehensive immigration reform, one that deals with border security, resolves the status of illegal immigrants who are already here, and creates a system in which immigrants can do jobs that Americans won’t do.

“All the issues must be addressed,” Bush said.

Bush took a much softer approach than he did during a May 29 speech in Georgia, when he said those who want to kill the bill “don’t want to do what’s right for America.”

Bush said Thursday that the idea of deporting all illegal immigrants is “impractical” and “won’t work.”

“We need to do this without animosity and without amnesty,” Bush said.

He urged opponents to put aside “political wrangling” and get something done. “We have an historic opportunity to act now,” Bush said. “Doing nothing is not a solution.”

Fred Thompson and the CFR:

Fred Thompson will be the fifth member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) to enter the 2008 Presidential Election when he predictably officially announces his candidacy, possibly around the Fourth of July.

Thompson will be joining fellow CFR-members, US Senator John McCain (R-AZ), former Gov. Jim Gilmore (R-VA), Gov. Bill Richardson (D-NM), and US Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT). Furthermore, former US House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA), also a member of the CFR, has also considered entering the presidential race later this Fall (perhaps if enough Christians/conservatives don’t take the bait and swallow the lie that globalist, pro-abort, First Amendment free-speech enemy Fred Thompson is a “conservative”).

“The Definition of Tyranny,” The New American (May 15, 1995), by John F. McManus
Formed in 1921 by Edward Mandell House, President Woodrow Wilson’s right-hand man, the CFR’s purpose has been undeniably clear from the start: to submerge our nation into a socialist, one-world government.”

“Never forget that the CFR was formed to bring about socialism and world government. Its increasing domination over America’s affairs amounts to a conspiracy the grip of which must be broken by an informed and alarmed American citizenry. If CFR influence over our federal government isn’t soon broken, America will be reduced to a mere province in a socialistic world government where freedom has disappeared and national sovereignty is but a dim memory. And James Madison’s worst fear — tyranny reigning in this land — will become a reality. The time to expose the CFR and its grip on this land is now.”

Rasmussen poll: Fred Thompson now tied with Giuliani at top of GOP field
http://blogs.usatoday.com/onpolitics/2007/06/rasmussen_poll__3.html

“However, Thompson’s rise has been meteoric. “

Steve Lefemine –
“How convenient for the CFR Globalist Elite’s new pick (i.e., Fred Thompson) to replace the fading John McCain (CFR) campaign, who like a good soldier fell on his sword for his globalist masters to push the Immigration Amnesty Bill (S.1348), to advance the Big Picture agenda of preparing the way for the North American Union (NAU). No problem, the purpose of the McCain candidacy was never to win the Nov. 2008 General Election, but just to keep enough of the Christians/conservatives on the Republican establishment “plantation” so that significant numbers did not go for one of the more principled candidates (Tancredo, Paul, Hunter, Huckabee, Brownback), and certainly so that they would not support a Third Party candidate. That would make it much harder for the CFR to control the election (using among other means, their key personnel in the national media – e.g., CFR-member FOX News head Rupert Murdoch) to get their “man” elected on November 4, 2008: Hillary Clinton. In my opinion, McCain’s former task is now precisely the CFR-assigned role assumed by Mr. Fred Thompson [4 years Bush, Sr. – 8 Years Clinton – 8 Years Bush, Jr. – now it’s Hillary’s turn]. May God, in His righteous judgment and wrath upon this nation of false religion, abortion, and sodomy, remember mercy (Habakkuk 3:2).”

Rasmussen poll:
Fred Thompson now tied with Giuliani at top of GOP field

Just hours after The Los Angeles Times report that its polling shows Fred Thompson now in second place among Republican presidential contenders, Rasmussen Reports has this to say:

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has to share his spot atop the field of Republican presidential hopefuls this week. The newest face in the race, former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson, is now tied with Giuliani.

Rasmussen’s latest automated national poll of like Republican primary voters and caucus-goers shows:

Giuliani was the choice of 24%, vs. 23% a week ago.
Thompson is also the choice of 24%, vs. his 17% support a week ago.
• Mitt Romney and Sen. John McCain were tied at third, with 11% support each
(vs. 15% a week ago for Romney and 14% for McCain).

Rasmussen says its survey of 633 “likely Republican primary voters,” which includes some independents, has a margin of error of +/- 4 percentage points.

As we have noted before, there is some dispute over whether Rasmussen’s automated polling — meaning the telephone calls are made by machines, not people — is more or less accurate than more traditional methods. See this Mystery Pollster discussion of the issue.

Rasmussen’s analysis of the Thompson numbers?

It is not unusual for a candidate to gain ground in the polls when they first announce their intentions. However, Thompson’s rise has been meteoric.

Monday, Rasmussen reported little change on the Democratic side of the presidential sweepstakes.
